What the hell?
Here's the short version:
Alley Cat (what I like to call a younger version of a woman who is headed for Cougertown) gets macked on by Young n' Tender brother of her BFF. 7 year age gap. No big deal. That is if you're not in Korea. However, times are changing. Whateves!
Anyway, that is the main plot. Nice huh? But then; the subplots /side plots. There's a lot of them. Here's a few key ones:
1. Female Harassment / Workplace Bulling / Men as Bosses Can Suck It
Ironic right? Heh heh.
Don't want to disclose too much of the drama here, but just know that homegirl went through it! Interesting thing here is the way the show covered it. It was written with her feelings, motivations, and fears laid out on the table. But yet it gave reflection from the douchebags dolling out the harassment. I felt it was highly relatable to women. So, yes, clap clap to you writers. You just have to watch it to get my meaning.
2. Stalker Ass Ex -Boo
And he wasn't even that hot! I suppose though that stalkers should not be hot. Because if they're hot, you kinda might want a little lightweight stalking. No real creepy shit here, just enough to know that he's really really paying attention.
I have issues. I have already admitted it. So just shut the whole fuck up with your judgy ass old grand mamma scowl.
3. Victim -Drama Queen Ma
Ohhhh. I wanted to shake the shit out of the lead's mom. Have you ever met a victim-drama queen? You know the type that will take a situation and make it about them. Then sprinkles a little of victim dust on the shit? Then tops it off with HIGH drama (crying, yelling, physical tantrums). But at the root of all of it is a control freak that has insecurities?
Oh fuck.... let me lighten this shit back up. Sorry y'all. She struck a nerve. Let me know how she hits you.
4. BFF is not feelin' it.
Yeah right. Who the fuck would be cool with their BFF pushin' all up on their kid bro? Ugghh! You better not have done it at my house! And remember those shoes you borrowed?! Gimme all my shits back NOW! (roughly paraphrased from the character's reaction...with added flair).
5. Lastly, an annoyance rather than subplot. The fucking song 'Stand by Your Man'
OMG. Worst song ever. At least this version of it. More to the point; it didn't fit with the show. It was like going with a free image of something vs. what you really wanted to snatch up in a search. And it played like a jillion times (this is not a real word). Every time someone peed ... song ... kissing ... song ... running ... song ... making ramen ... song. Oh, for Fuck's sake!
And with that, I close. Hope this post is helpful as you watch the show. FYI, you can watch them shits on Netflix. (They really could have shelled out some money for a better soundtrack...for reals).
On to the next one girls!!!!!
