Guardian (Goblin) – The Lonely and Great God

Why? Uhhh...because this is one of the most beloved, highly rated, and kick-ass dramas of all time! Some might fight me over this shit. So, we'll just get into.

This drama came out in 2016 and goes by a few different names: 도깨비, The Lonely, Shining Goblin, Goblin, and Guardian (Goblin) – The Lonely and Great God.

I have no idea why. Maybe the awesomeness that this show contains couldn't be contained to one or even two names. That's probably it. That's how Goblins roll.

Please don't walk into this show thinking that you're going to see what we as Westerners think of as goblins. You won't be seeing this shit:

Nope not at all. The goblin in question on this show is a really really really old dude (he dates back to the Goryeo dynasty.. 918-1392), who can't die unless he finds a particular bride... to kill him for good.

You got that right... find your boo, and then kill you. Fucking great.

Highlights: HIGH fashion for dudes. Ok OST (soundtrack yo). Love story that spans lifetimes. Lots of plot twists. Really nice storytelling.

Often I say that I don't want to spoil shit for you. I for reals mean it this time yo. I want you to get sucked into this drama like I did.

And the actor Gong Yoo is not bad on the eyes (you know him...remember watching "Train to Busan"?!)

If you didn't see the movie "Train to Busan" we are not friends anymore. I fucking mean it. ......OK OK, if you scramble off and watch it now, we good. If not, go play in traffic.
