Holy shit. 56 total episodes at about an hour each!
Oh balls! This drama will require commitment to get through.
I have never, ever, seen drama of with this level of fuckery and hysteria. It seems that there is a fight or crying in every scene.
Okay, lemme take a few breaths. Phew. Phew. Phew.
A friend recommended this older drama (2008) as part of core drama watching. I'd like to tell that friend to go suck an egg now. I had to break this up into a few different posts. Even without giving serious spoilers, there is many a WTF to cover. So be warned...lots of ranting to come.
The mother.
The mother.
THE MOTHER!!!!!
I will get back to her in a bit.
Basics: Two babies born at the same hospital, on the same night, with parents that already had negatively intertwined paths. Nurse switches babies. Intentionally. Why? Well... her douchebag lover decided that he needed to undo the pregnancy he helped to create. Yeah. There's that. So, she was pretty much destroyed over forcibly having her unborn child ripped from her body by its own father. In some back alley lean-to clinic, by shaky (maybe a doctor) hands. Polished off with an envelope of money left for her compensation. Shit on a shingle!!
So why switch the babies? Because the douchebag lover was also the father of one of the to be switched babies. Oh, and he was really rich. And douchey. And murderous. And douchey (seriously).
THE MOTHER (refer to said "The Mother" from earlier) of one of the switched babies, was on 10,000,000,000 (based on asshole meter of 1-10). I am now 15 episodes in. I had to take a fucking break. FROM HER!
This actress will make you a believer (Lee Mi-sook as Yang Chun-hee shown dead center).
Every horrible, vile, cruel, vindictive, spiteful, and just hateful ass thing you could think of a mother saying...times infinity... that's her. Shit like telling your husband that you really wish he'd fall down the coal mine he's toiling away in... so you can collect the compensation monies. When this harpy gets on a roll, she does not let up. The scenes are long and excruciating. The only reason I made it through was by posting and reading the comments thanks to VIKI's 'Timed Comments' section. Thank you fellow viewers for your shared feelings on this drama.
I beg you. You have to see it to understand. Just get through episode 1.
Sorry for the spoilers. Don't worry, you will still have plenty to chew on.
On to the next one ladies (and other people fucking off time with Kdramas)...
